- By the end of Matchday 2, Qatar cannot advance to the knockout round; however, if the hosts lose and Ecuador loses to the Netherlands, both teams will be eliminated.
- If Senegal fails to earn all three points against Qatar, an Ecuador victory would ensure their passage.
- Senegal would be eliminated if Senegal suffered a loss and the Netherlands lost to Ecuador.
- If Qatar loses to Senegal, the Netherlands would advance with a victory.
Group B
- England would advance to the Round of 16 with a victory.
- A loss would force IR Iran to leave.
- On Matchday 2, neither Wales nor the USA can have their futures decided.
Poland-Saudi Arabia(26 November, 16:00 local time) Argentina-Mexico(26 November, 22:00 local time)
- If France prevails, they advance to the Round of 16.
- Australia would be eliminated if they lost.
- On Matchday 2, Tunisia and Denmark are both ineligible to advance or be eliminated.
Spain-Germany(27 November, 22:00 local time) Japan-Costa Rica (27 November, 13:00 local time)
- Spain would advance if it triumphed if Costa Rica lost against Japan.
- If Japan triumphs, Germany would advance if Germany loses to Spain.
- If Costa Rica loses to Japan and Germany loses, they will no longer be able to advance.
Belgium-Morocco (27 November, 16:00 local time) Croatia-Canada (27 November, 19:00 local time)
- Belgium would advance to the Round of 16 with a victory.
- Canada would leave if it lost.
- On Matchday 2, Morocco and Croatia cannot advance or be eliminated.
Cameroon-Serbia (28 November, 13:00 local time) Brazil-Switzerland(28 November, 19:00 local time)
- Serbia would lose and be eliminated if Brazil loses to Switzerland.
- Brazil would advance with a victory if Cameroon lost to Serbia.
- Cameroon would be eliminated if Cameroon lost and Switzerland lost against Brazil.
- If Serbia loses to Cameroon, Switzerland would advance with a victory.
Korea Republic-Ghana (28 November, 16:00 local time) Portugal-Uruguay (28 November, 22:00 local time)
- Portugal would advance to the Round of 16 with a victory.
- A loss would eliminate Ghana.
- On Matchday 2, Korea Republic and Uruguay are both ineligible to advance or be eliminated.
